Becky George & Mainly Deco

Mainly Deco started as a love of ceramics. I have always collected, my parents tell me I would rather buy one piece of china than a load of bits and pieces on holiday with my pocket money.

In my late teens I started having a stall at local Antique Fairs and here began my collection of ceramics. After university I decided that I wanted to do a job which I enjoyed so I opened Mainly Deco in 1997.

Mainly Deco in Gerrards Cross was a fantastic opportunity for me to run my own business. Learning the trade and learning how to run a shop.
I was able to run the shop around bringing up 2 children with the help of my parents, so I was incredibly lucky. However over the last couple of years as other traders have noticed, the high street has changed massively and I found that more and more people wanted to buy online. So after nearly 23 years of being on the high street I have made the decision to move the entire contents to ‘by appointment’ and more website based.
We will still be doing Fairs and we are easily contactable for viewings or to view items that you wish to sell. I have always loved finding items to buy!
An end of an era? It’s a new beginning

Auctions and Antique Fairs have always held such an excitement for me, it’s the thrill of the find but also the anticipation to own it. I think for me a piece or china either has to have bright colours or a fantastic shape. Obviously I have always bought things I like which means not only the shop is well stocked but also my house! I don’t think you can ever not collect, there is always something to buy. Why buy new, the same as everyone else when you can buy something old, with a history and pretty unique!

Please have a look at my ‘Stock’ pages, here you will find ceramics from the 1930’s – 80’s, from Homewares to Fun and Quirky. Alternatively if you would like to view any of my stock or anything more closely please contact me and book an appointment.

I am always looking for stock, please phone or email me for an appointment.
